Boys and girls in 4th grade create a story inspired by Mumbai Smiles
La Escola Vedruda Cardona ha formado parte este año de nuestro proyecto Escuelas Sonrientes. Esta acción da a conocer a niños y niñas en edad escolar de primaria, secundaria y jóvenes de Bachillerato y Ciclos Formativos, la realidad que viven millones de niños, niñas, chicos y chicas de su misma edad en la India y la respuesta que damos a través de los proyectos que impulsamos en la ciudad de Bombay.
El objetivo principal de este proyecto es sensibilizar, difundir y formar en materia de Derechos Humanos, Derechos de la Infancia, los ODS (Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible) y Cooperación al Desarrollo a través de materiales pedagógicos y talleres que ofrecemos.
Acercando mundos
Durante este curso, los niños y niñas de 4º de primaria de la Escola Vedruna Cardona, realizaron un proyecto sobre nuestra organización a través del libro “10 cuentos, 10 sonrisas”. Han trabajado conceptos como la empatía, la amabilidad, la no discriminación y la importancia de la educación.
Dentro de esta acción también recibieron la visita de parte del equipo de Sonrisas de Bombay. En este taller, les pudimos explicar a los y las alumnas de la escuela el trabajo de la fundación, así como la realidad de los niños y niñas de su misma edad que viven en las comunidades con las que trabajamos en Bombay.
Escola Vedruda Cardona has been part of our Smiling Schools project this year. This action informs children of primary school age, secondary school and young people from Baccalaureate and Training Cycles, the reality that millions of children, boys and girls of the same age in India live and the response we give to them. through the projects we promote in the Mumbai city.
The main objective of this project is to raise awareness, disseminate and train on Human Rights, Children’s Rights, the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and Development Cooperation through pedagogical materials and workshops that we offer.
Bringing worlds together
During this course, the 4th grade boys and girls from Escola Vedruna Cardona carried out a project about our organization through the book “10 stories, 10 smiles”. They have worked on concepts such as empathy, kindness, non-discrimination and the importance of education.
As part of this action, they also received a visit from the Mumbai Smiles team. In this workshop, we were able to explain to the school students the work of the foundation, as well as the reality of boys and girls their same age who live in the communities with which we work in Mumbai.
The inspiring story of Miquel and Kaira
From all this work, they decided to write a story inspired by Mumbai Smiles and that united all the values and concepts they had learned. From this work came this wonderful story that we fell in love with:
This is the story of a boy, Miquel, who travels with his family to Mumbai and there he meets Kaira. This relationship makes him reflect on the importance of being able to go to school and valuing what he has.
