We welcomed 2023 with visits from thousands of kilometers

These last weeks of 2022 and the first month of the year 2023, we have been very busy with visitors. We are thankful to the visits we receive! People who travel thousands of kilometers to know how and with whom we work in Mumbai. How we stay well equipped to prevent the most vulnerable communities in poverty from falling into the hands of human trafficking networks.

Javier was travelling to India to meet his adopted son. He did it with his older brother, Francisco, who is studying social work. Despite the fact that they had a very tight schedule, they wanted to know first-hand about our action and experiences.

Later, Antonia visited us with her family. Her daughter Laura turned 25 the same day of the visit and she was very excited to experience such a special date in this way. A day of learning, of different perspectives, on a difficult reality, that of the disadvantaged communities with which we work. Surely she gave them many reflections this day, but let’s not forget that she also created many smiles, the same ones that resonate in our nursery schools daily. They also participated in the activities programmed for the Day for the eradication of male violence.

A few days later, the group of LEINN students arrived, who decided to include visits to the Govandi and Vikhroli communities during their internship and learning program. They were joined by Virginia, Jenny and Anna, to see the project in action by the team and participants of our Smiling Bus.

For us it is very enriching to take the opportunity to look at ourselves with different point of view that help us to evaluate our work and action from another perspective. Especially, when the eyes are full of commitment in building the better world.

Thank you and welcome, we wish you the best!
