A week of free eye-chekup camp

As we have already told you, last week we organized some ophthalmological camps with the Barraquer Foundation.

The experience has been highly positive. 676 people have participated and we conducted camps in three areas: Chedda Nagar-Dumping Ground-Sathe Nagar; Vikhroli and Sai Bangoda.

Among all the check-ups carried out, 166 reading glasses and 152 glasses have been prescribed and 109 people have been referred for cataract operations.

We want to dedicate a few lines especially to the effort and commitment of the Barraquer Foundation that have made it possible for this experience, to bring ophthalmological health closer to those communities that are furthest from it, to have been a success.

At the same time we want to highlight a few words from Alba Herrero, optometrist at the Barraquer Foundation “During
this week we have been fortunate to be able to collaborate with the Barraquer Foundation in one of the many projects that Mumabi Smiles offers to families with few resources and women survivors of trafficking.

It is incredible the work that these people do every day to try to make life better for all these communities.

Many thanks to Komal, Rohini, Ranjit, Manoj, Sagar and the rest of the wonderful Mumbai Smiles team. You have welcomed us, guided us, accompanied us and shown us your cultural wealth.

You are a wonderful team and thanks to you we left a little piece of our heart in Mumbai.”

We hope to be able to share more experiences with your entire team and from here we send you the greatest of thanks for your care, dedication, commitment, and professionalism.
