At Mumbai Smiles we focus our efforts on combating human trafficking, originated from the poverty in which the communities live, with whom we work. Living in a situation of isolation and poverty implies having difficulties in accessing fundamental rights such as homes, education, work and health.

For this reason, in order to progress in the fight against this form of slavery, which is human trafficking, we believe that it is necessary to work in parallel to guarantee these fundamental rights. This time it is about the right to health and we are going to announce about an activity based on this.

This October we will be with the Barraquer Foundation, which will move a medical team of five people from the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center (including two ophthalmologists and three optometrists), in the Satkhira district, in Bangladesh, carrying out comprehensive eye check-up camp in the communities that participate in the projects and we promote in said area.

The camp will last a week, from Monday to Friday and will provide service with the appropriate solution to each and every case, to all those having visual health problems, whether it is prescribing glasses or suggesting surgical treatments.

In order to provide the glasses, local opticians will be involved based on the prescriptions made by the optometrists of the Barraquer Foundation and the surgical treatments will be carried out at the Barraquer Ophthalmology Center in Barcelona.

After the successful execution of the camp, a monthly follow-up will be carried out by the same medical team.

We are very pleased to implement it after years of collaboration as it will make a positive change in the lives of many.
