Schools sharing smiles from thousands of kilometers
“Smiling Schools”
One more year, we have carried out the project, “Smiling Schools”, which has allowed us to work with more than 400 students from seven Spanish, one Swedish and five Indian schools, with whom we have held workshops related to our mission.
We are always excited to see how the girls and boys are moved by learning about the situation in which many people live in other parts of the world, and how they consider what they can do from their position and how they can contribute to change things.
As part of the workshops, we usually suggest that they reflect on the sentence of the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano: “Many small people in small places doing small things can change the world“, and from it come to the conclusion that any effort, no matter how small, As it may seem, it is very important to improve things.
Undoubtedly, the culminating point of the project has come when they have contacted boys and girls of the same age from the Mumbai schools with which we work, both by letter and through video calls.
