Nepal Floods Emergency: Delivering Critical Aid After Flash Floods

The catastrophic flood that struck northern Nepal last week has been devastating and has left thousands of people across the country homeless. We are deploying a series of humanitarian actions, such as:

• Psychosocial Support: Specialized mental health care for women and children, who face elevated risks following displacement.
• Essential Relief Distribution: Direct delivery of emergency supplies, including hygiene kits for women, clothing, blankets, and school backpacks.
• Focused Aid in Nuwakot: Concentrating operations in Nuwakot district (50 km from Kathmandu), one of the hardest-hit regions. Our pre-existing anti-trafficking work in the area allows us to mobilize immediately through established local trust.

To date, the flooding has claimed over 900 lives, left nearly 5,000 missing, and displaced an estimated 10,000 families across the country. Because these figures rise daily as search and rescue operations progress, continuous impact monitoring remains critical.

Despite severe infrastructure damage, our local teams are working around the clock to navigate cut-off terrain and deliver aid to hard-hit remote communities.
