We extend our work in Nepal
As you know, Mumbai Smiles has been active in Nepal since 2021, running a daycare center in Kathmandu’s Thamel district for women who are survivors of human trafficking and sexual exploitation, as well as their children. Over the years, we have also expanded our impact through various other projects, ranging from human trafficking prevention in rural areas to providing vital humanitarian aid during the devastating earthquakes of 2023 and 2024.

We are proud to share that we have now signed a collaboration agreement with the Child Development and Women Welfare Centre (CDWWC) to support the Ekata Pathsala preschool, located in the Lalitpur district just south of Kathmandu. Through this partnership, our support will cover enrollment fees, monthly tuition, daily meals, extracurricular activities, and school supplies for 14 children from low-income families in the community.
Because of this initiative, these 14 vulnerable children will receive the consistent support they need to stay in school and complete their early education. We know that access to quality schooling is crucial in preventing exploitative labor, precarious employment, systemic poverty, and the subsequent loss of fundamental rights and freedoms.
This initiative marks another significant step forward in our work across South Asia and in our ongoing mission to protect children’s rights and end child exploitation.
