Sonrisas de Bombay in Madrid

This year we celebrate 15 years of work and peaceful struggle against poverty in Mumbai. We are very excited about this, and although it is an involuntary coincidence, it is also a perfect occasion to announce that from now on, in addition to our headquarters in Barcelona, our sister organization Sonrisas de Bombay, opens an office in Madrid, Spain.

We have been interested for some time in expanding our presence in Spain and adding to the fantastic work being done by our volunteer groups (GAS) in Ávila, Bilbao, Galicia, Madrid and Tarragona. This way we can be closer to our partners, companies and institutions in the central area. Being more present in a city like Madrid will allow us to generate new opportunities to continue carrying out our mission, meet more people and offer them the possibility of changing the lives of the poorest communities in Mumbai.

Alfonso Hernández, who joined Sonrisas de Bombay in 2019, is from this month onwards responsible for the Madrid office, which is located in the central Glorieta de Quevedo number 9. From there, and together with the extraordinary team of volunteers that we already had in the city, at Sonrisas de Bombay we will continue to transform the futures of thousands of people into a project that, far from stopping, is growing.
