We are now part of the RLU partner network for the interuniversity project ENGAGE.EU.

Starting today, Mumbai Smiles joins the RLU partner network for the interuniversity project ENGAGE.EU. In our twentieth anniversary year, we continue to progress as a new RLU Associate Partner, alongside the Diocesan Caritas of Barcelona, Manos Unidas, the Roundtable of Third Sector Social Entities of Catalonia, Barcelona Global, the Department of Social Rights and Inclusion of the Generalitat of Catalonia, the National Employment Promotion Agency, and Barcelona City Council.

Research, knowledge transfer, and innovation to respond to society’s needs are key pillars of the European ENGAGE.EU project. This is why partners like Mumbai Smiles, which works for transformative action by supporting victims and survivors of human trafficking through prevention, rescue, and integration, including access to education, healthcare, and socioeconomic development, are key to jointly developing sustainable approaches for the transformation of societies and Europe as a whole.

This morning, Jaume Sanllorente, founder and General Director of Mumbai Smiles, and Josep A. Rom, rector of Ramon Llull University (RLU), met at the rector’s office to formalize the signing of the collaboration agreement.

European Universities Initiative

ENGAGE.EU it is an alliance that includes universities from Germany, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, France, Austria, and Finland, as well as prestigious institutions and organizations from all these countries.

This alliance is part of the European Universities Initiative, an initiative promoted by the European Union that seeks to establish partnerships between higher education institutions across Europe to benefit their students, teaching and research staff, and academic and professional development professionals, as well as individuals and society at large. Only 10% of the continent’s universities are part of the alliance, which opens up new opportunities for universities and partner organizations to positively impact the EU environment.
