Good thoughts, good behaviour, respect, love and joy are some of the factors for a healthy body and mind. At Mumbai Smiles Foundation, this takes a whole new level of importance as our preschool teachers and assistants have to work every day with this frame of mind to ensure that the children are happy learning, and do not drop out of school. The preschool teachers and assistants thus form the backbone of our project. To help them achieve this mission, Mumbai Smiles Foundation organises regular meetings to obtain insights and inputs from the field on how best to deliver impact.

On July 17, 2019, Mumbai Smiles Foundation organised its bi-monthly meeting with its teachers and assistants working across Preschool Projects. In all 72 people, which included 32 teachers, 32 assistants, 5 field coordinators, 1 program manager, 1 Jump2Justice program officer, as well as Mumbai Smiles Foundation’s Deputy Director Ms Lucia Galant attended this meeting.

As Mumbai Smiles Foundation aims to provide quality education to its beneficiaries, the purpose of this meeting was to collect feedback from teachers and assistants on the quality of service provided, and ways to improve it. Further, the teachers and assistants went through a refresher training on project guidelines and Child Protection Policy. During the meeting, each project activity and expected outcomes were reviewed in detail. Discussions also ensued on suggestions from teachers on new and innovative teaching methods to educate children.

The meeting ended with a motivational speech from the management, encouraging the project team on their dedication and commitment towards helping the underprivileged, as well as being an integral part for its success. The meeting served its purpose to increase the management’s knowledge on the overall progress of the project and assessment on areas for improvement.
