Despite the prevention efforts undertaken through the projects detailed above, the reality is that thousands of women, girls, and boys fall into the hands of trafficking and exploitation networks every year. The goal of this project is to rescue these individuals from the criminal organizations that exploit them for various purposes.

Therefore, the project team maintains an extensive network of contacts with police units specializing in combating trafficking, as well as with various related entities and institutions. This allows the team to participate in investigations and take part in rescue operations for trafficking victims, always in coordination with the police unit in charge.

Some of the most recent operations, carried out to rescue minors, have taken place at train stations in Mumbai or its surrounding areas, as these locations are common destinations for victims who have been trafficked but have not yet been exploited. The constant movement of people requires effective and complex coordination when intervening. However, detecting these cases at train stations makes it possible to prevent victims from falling into the hands of exploitation networks just before it becomes much more difficult to rescue them.

At the same time, the legal procedure is set in motion to denounce their captors and obtain the women’s exoneration since, on paper, they have suffered a violation of their fundamental rights, but they have also committed various crimes, one of the most common of which is illegal immigration.
