Afternoon DC covers Mumbai Smiles Foundation

In Awareness, Health, Mumbai Smiles, Preschool, Thank You

It is now going to be a year since the two new preschool centres of Mumbai Smiles Foundation opened its doors to the two most underprivileged strata of this megacity – street children and children of trafficked women. One year of serving the destitute in speicifc areas where children are suffering from lack of decent living, education and even food due to their terrible economic conditions and because of their family background. These socio-economic factors, which are affecting a child’s future for no fault of theirs, are what the fight against, by our preschool education centres and we are glad to see that step by step, we are reaching out to more and more children every year.

Afternoon DC, recognizing our work in the slums of Mumbai, has published our work in their daily publication and we are super happy about it; it is supremely motivating! Here is a snippet from the same: “The pre-schools started by Mumbai Smiles Foundation aim at reducing inequalities by providing access to education and capacity building at the local level. With the opening of the two new preschools in Govandi and Khetwadi in Kamathipura, Mumbai Smiles currently operates in 29 preschool centres.”
