2nd MCH Orientation Meet for Aarogyasakhis

 In Awareness, Health, Mumbai Smiles

The Maternal and Child Health project (MCH) functions in partnership with the ARMMAN organsiation’s mMitra project to help pregnant and nursing mothers with increased availability of better healthcare services, via the free message calling facility. To felicitate this process and create awareness in our project areas for women to register themselves with this project, every year, we encourage our preschool teachers and assistants to become Aarogyasakhis. Aarogyasakhis form the Community Outreach Team, which helps in mobilizing the community women as these team members belong to these very same communities are trained to spread awareness about the benefits of MCH project.

At the start of this operative year, we saw a large number of 55 preschool teachers enroll themselves as our Aarogyasakhis who have worked tirelessly in the past few months to ensure that the women are well aware of the benefits of registering with mMitra. And so, entering the second half of the year, the MCH team decided to hold another orientation meet for all the 55 Aarogyasakhis (the enrolled teachers and assistants) to revise on the methods of approaching community women and how to highlight the benefits of the mMitra project to increase registration, so as to ensure more and more women take advantage of the available facilities.

The session was more interactive in nature, wherein the Program Officer of MCH and the Aarogyasakhis discussed on all the important aspects of the voice calling feature and, the demo to give to the women wile registering them and how to ensure that post registration, regular calls and other information regarding important activities is reaching them and the response to this meet was very positive and encouraging for all!
