Mumbai Smiles started more than a decade ago and over the years, today, has 11 running projects for children, women and general public in a northern area of Mumbai called Andheri. At Mumbai Smiles, we do not believe in social service, where the free service provider stands on the opposite side of the receiver, but we strongly believe in working with the communities, hand in hand, matching our steps together in our peaceful struggle against poverty. And in this process, we make happy and sustainable relationship with all our beneficiaries, so as to create a healthy and happy environment for all who are a part of this family – our members, donors, partners, staff as well as the beneficiaries, the citizens of our project areas.
Four years ago, in the year of 2012, a young lad by the name of Sainath Balaji Sridhar, became a part of the Higher Education project (earlier known as the Future Smiles project) as one of the scholarship student, and by the end of the academic year in 2013, he proved his merit with high scores in the 12th std HSC exams, post which he took a break and then continued with his studies last year onwards.
But, today, at Mumbai Smiles office, we got a surprise visit from our very own Sainath, who has now grown up to be a young man, doing well in his medical studies and wanted to pay his respects to the team of Education of our organization with yummy sweets!
It is thrilling to see such good results of our old beneficiaries and we cannot express our happiness to see you again Sainath, happy and kicking! All the very best for your future and we are sure you are going to soar very high!
