Silvia visits Mumbai Smiles

 In Mumbai Smiles

 Silvia Pass, 3 de Febrero

Awareness is knowledge and knowledge is power, hence with greater awareness of social norms and problems arises better understanding and lasting solutions. It is with this objective that Mumbai Smiles has implemented a project named New Glances, to raise awareness nationally and internationally about the situation and life conditions of millions of people living in the slums of Mumbai. It is through this project, that people from all over the world have had the opportunity to visit our project sites, experience the progress and thus leave with an indelible impression.

Silvia Pass was once such visitor who visited Mumbai Smiles recently. She is a resident of Spain and is a donor at Mumbai Smiles and is also an expert in Kinesiology.  While in Mumbai, she visited the Balwadis, Holy Spirit Hospital and LSE Project. Being a kinesiology student, she taught the LSE girls some good day to day exercises to be healthy, and increase concentration during exams, and overcome stress. The girls and the animators too loved the easy exercises and were very grateful to her for teaching them such exercises.

Silvia gave us the following feedback: “My first visit to Mumbai Smiles -The truth is that since a very long time I’ve wanted to visit the NGO. The last time I was in Bombay was in the year 2004 and the first time in a slum was in the year 2003, and ever since I’ve always wanted to support the slum dwellers of Mumbai. It makes me really happy that there are a lot of people involved in this project. Thanks to all who participate in these projects. It’s all very well organized and the project of the young adolescent girls is very wise and effective. Congratulations to the entire team of Mumbai Smiles- Silvia “
