Preschool Beneficiary Committee Meeting held

In Awareness, Health, Mumbai Smiles, Preschool

The Preschool Education centre holds the periodical Beneficiary Committee Meetings with the objective to interact with the committee members, which comprises of the parents of 14 Preschool students from all seven project areas, on one-on-one basis, to discuss the issues and difficulties and seek their feedback on the quality of project outcome that they feel they are receiving out of the Preschool Education project. This activity helps to involve the beneficiaries’ parents directly with the program objectives, as well as helps design the future implementation process with their valuable feedback and suggestions.

The latest meeting held, included the 14 parents, the Preschool Team of Programme Office and Field Coordinators, the Unit Head of Health as well as the President & Founder of Mumbai Smiles Foundation, who all discussed the agenda for the meeting together.

The meeting included reflection on the past activities of the program, discussing the positives as well as scope for improvements in them, and continued on to discuss the activities in the upcoming months, before the end of this academic year. While the positive points in the feedback included improvement of health in the children, improvement of mannerisms and better behavior, safety of children and improvement in the creative skills of the students among others, one of the suggestions was to include white socks and black shoes for the children, which would make the uniform complete.

These meetings help with not only linking the beneficiaries directly with the administration of the project, but also connect them with the direct decisions being made for their own children. As we at Mumbai Smiles, always say, we work with our beneficiaries, not for them and such exercises help us maintain our quality of work as well!
