Life Skills Empowerment beneficiaries gather at Mumbai Smiles

The Future Smiles project at Mumbai Smiles was designed with the motto of ‘Educating Disadvantaged Youth in Mumbai and has envisioned mentoring and providing scholarships to needy and ambitious youth in the age group of 13 – 22 years from underprivileged background. It provides individual mentoring, group learning, exposure to various successful institutions and personalities and thereby a holistic development along with the social empowerment of student beneficiaries. This project also promotes Life Skills empowerment for adolescent girls in the age group of 6 – 13 years from the underprivileged families.

A Life Skills Empowerment gathering was organized on 11th March, 2015 for our LSE beneficiaries. The objective of the gathering was to get the beneficiaries together and showcase their skills before the Mumbai Smiles team and to felicitate the beneficiaries for being a part of the project.

The beneficiaries demonstrated their skills by performing a Street Play on Eve Teasing before the Mumbai Smiles Team. Later, they shared their experiences with the Mumbai Smiles team and the other beneficiaries about the program.

The beneficiaries and the animator informed how the project has changed their lives. They spoke on how the project was helpful in building their confidence. The gathering helped in meeting the beneficiaries from various centres.

As per the feedback, the requisite suggestions shall be made in the LSE module.
