Mumbai Smiles Foundation formally inaugurates the Butterfly Project.

13th August

Mumbai Smiles Foundation started the Butterfly Project to coach victims of human trafficking in various life skills that aid their social and psychological development. This helps them manage their mental stress and hones their life skills. Through the life skills coaching, women are empowered with interpersonal and social skills to help them live with dignity.

Recently, Mumbai Smiles Foundation organised its first ice breaking session with Victims of Human Trafficking at the Kamathipura Community Centre. During the session, the Butterfly Project was officially inaugurated by our General Director, Jaume Sanllorente. The programme began with a warm, friendly welcome for the beneficiaries through music; followed by a brief introduction on the Butterfly Project.

After the brief, we played a few games with our beneficiaries to help them relax and have fun through games. Extremely thrilled with this opportunity, the women were happy to be reminded of their childhood. The event helped the beneficiaries’ bond with each other and the staff, which helped them leave behind their sorrow and embrace joy at the event.
