7 Beneficiaries now Cataract-free!

The Health vertical of Mumbai Smiles has, over the years, worked across various aspects of health like Infectious Diseases, Cancer, Dental and Eye issues. And so the Eye and Healthcare Project regularly conducts free check-up camps in the select communities of Andheri East to prevent and initiate the process of curing certain diseases. In the month of April, one such eye check-up camp was held in the Phulenagar area of Powai in Andheri East, in collaboration with Aditya Jyot Hospital. Of the 141 screened beneficiaries, 25 were detected with cataract.

Over the last two months, Doctor Eye Institute has helped us conduct free sessions for 15 of the cataract-detected beneficiaries and has so far helped seven of the patients get rid of their cataract by conducting free surgeries for them.

These cataract free beneficiaries are now able to lead a completely normal life with perfect vision and the Eye and Healthcare Project is continuing to conduct regular post-surgery check-ups with the Hospital. Way to go Project Eye and Healthcare!
