The 10th year celebration of Mumbai Smiles began with an opening ceremony at Holy Spirit Hospital on the 6th April. In the week that followed Mumbai Smiles, celebrated the joy of completing 10 years with its true heroes who make Mumbai Smiles and with whom Mumbai Smiles really works.

The 7th of April marked the celebrations in the Marol pipeline community area where the beneficiaries gathered in huge numbers to participate in the events. The President Founder of Mumbai Smiles, Mr. Jaume Sanllorente and Executive Director India, Mr. Narendra Kumar Dundu inaugurated the event.

The section that was most precious to the journey and celebrations of Mumbai Smiles was the one where five of its beneficiaries shared their experiences with the people. Their journeys were unique in their own ways and made a difference to who they are and where they have reached. One of the experiences was shared by Tina Sharma, a Future Smiles beneficiary. She described how her journey of last two years with Mumbai Smiles has changed her life. She said “My experience with Mumbai Smiles has been extremely fruitful from the last two years. I am a First Year BMS student from SPDT College. My dream is to have my own business after completing my studies. My parents cant afford my education, since I have two more siblings in the house. Paying up all our fees is a huge burden on my parents. I was determined to complete my education and hence joined Mumbai Smiles. One day Mumbai Smiles representative visited our area and informed me about their project Future Smiles. I then visited their office and followed through the procedure for getting scholarship. When I was awarded the scholarship I felt I can now continue to chase my dreams. I am so glad that they provided me with the scholarship to pursue my dream. The scholarship made it easier for me to concentrate on my studies and get much better percentage. I have always participated and benefitted from the workshops that they organize intermittently like personality development, goal setting or anything apart from studies like guitar classes or computer classes. We have tremendously benefitted from these activities.  I am very thankful to Mumbai Smiles for all the support that they have given to me.”

10 years of spreading smiles is just a beginning for Mumbai Smiles, many such stories continue to take shape.
