Life skills are an integral part of a holistic education. It is our belief that any student enrolled with us should have the basic logical, intra-personal and communication skills to be able to navigate life successfully. This is the central principle of our Life Skills Empowerment module that is targeted towards our students stepping into adolescence. The LSE programme is being expanded and introduced into our partner schools.
On 25 November 2018, the LSE programme was introduced at the Wilson High School in Khetwadi with an orientation and pre-test session. It was conducted by the Primary Education project and attended by 11 beneficiaries as well as our field coordinators. The first step was to explain what the module entails and how it will progress. After this, the existing awareness level of the students regarding life skills was tested, so that the module can be better fitted to their needs. The session concluded with a vote of thanks and the students were excited about starting to learn something so relevant and useful for their future. We hope the module serves their needs well and they feel empowered to do their best in life.
