Its Vacation Time for our Balwadi Kids !!
Our balwadis are now close for the summer and will reopen after the two-month summer vacation in June. This brings another busy academic year to an end, a year that has been full of growth, progress and new initiatives. Before we close for this academic year, we did an evaluation of the children in all the balwadis, to see if what impact the teaching has had and where the kids need help, if any, with their learning. The certificates with grades were awarded to these kids on Wednesday, 10th April 2013 by our EDI and Unit Head Health along with the project staff.
This evaluation included checking the basics, like whether or not the child can read his/her name, identify the days of the week, walk in a straight line, can draw simple shapes, can join the dots, narrate a simple story, and more. Each Balwadi teacher evaluated the students on these parameters, which was then passed on to the projects team for their records. The selective Random Evaluation was also done by our Project staff.
Mumbai Smiles looking forward to the new academic year and we can assure you the coming academic year starting from June 2013 will be much more impactful, resourceful in terms of covering health and education aspects of our balwadi children thus building a Healthy and Educated future for our Country.
