“Click A Smile” is back – Photography Contest ALERT!

The 8^th edition of the Click A Smile photography contest is here and this year, the theme is “India of the Bravest”.

Our sister organisation in Spain, Sonrisas de Bombay, each year organises this interesting competition with India-centric themes encouraging all those passionate people of travel and photography, and in love with India, to participate. The subcontinent of India exudes beauty and color, but contrasts and inequalities are part of its human geography and we aim to bring it out to the rest of the world with our annual calendars, through its monthly photos, which will be the winning entries of this competition!!!

This year, the calendar will focus on the issues and reality of girls, infant or adolescent, in India, since they suffer from a 3-fold discrimination by virtue of being a women, a minor and a person of the lesser privileged community!

Here are the rules and regulations for this contest:

1. Each participant may submit up to 3 entries
2. Entries should be sent to eventos@mumbaismiles.org
3. Last date of submissions of entries: September 10, 2017
4. Format of each entry must be:

• JPEG format
• having 300 dpi
• be 2-6 mb in size
• could be in either colour or black & white.

5. Each entry email must have the following details:

• a creative title/tagline
• mention of the date and place of the image clicked
• participant’s full name, contact details and postal address

6. Editing of photos must be restriction to only colour correction and luminance. Any alteration of the composition of the image will lead to its disqualification.
7. Participation should be individual only. Any entry with multiple artists shall be disqualified
8. The photographer must not appear in the photograph themselves.
9. The photograph, in any manner, must not attack the integrity or respect of the image subjects. Any image that degrades the subject in any manner shall be disqualification.
10. The entry must not be a winning entry of any other photography/art competition.
11. There will be 12 winners selected for the calendar. Of these, top 3 will receive a special prize as well. All the 12 winners shall be given due credit in the calendar.
12. The winners shall be notified via mail.
13. Once a photographer submits an entry, he/she gives our Foundation the right to use the image (with due credit) to use the photograph for promotional activities of the organisation, pertaining to this competition only.
14. The winners shall be selected by a Jury Panel consisting of the staff members of our Foundation as well as professional photographers, who collaborate with us. The decision of the Jury shall be final and binding.

Support our cause. Send the images that inspire you, and on winning, your entries will be part of the new 2018-19 calendar of Sonrisas de Bombay, that will be released this coming Christmas. With this, we will highlight the situation of the girls and raise funds for the projects of Girl Child Education and Life Skills Empowerment to ensure their access to education, help them gain self confidence, develop their skills and maintain healthy relationships with their environment.
