Life skills empowerment gives you the chance to ensure that you’re not struggling at any point in life. Mumbai Smiles Foundation has recognised the importance of teaching LSEs for its beneficiaries, particularly children studying in higher classes and has developed a 11-day-long capacity building training workshop on using the LSE module. This module has been developed through a book written by our team at Mumbai Smiles Foundation.

Thanks to the book, the Mumbai Smiles Foundation team is today equipped with all new methodologies and techniques to conduct Life Skill sessions with its beneficiaries under the School Education Project and Smiling Bus Project, as well as children under School Education Project for Victims of Human Trafficking and Women under the Butterfly Project.

The purpose of developing a new LSE module was that our earlier module was not addressing the issues of our new target group. The new module developed is now well suited to our beneficiaries’ evolving needs.

Following topics are covered in the module:

  • Self-Awareness
  • Critical Thinking
  • Problem Solving
  • Decision Making
  • Negotiation Skill
  • Interpersonal Skill
  • Assertive Behaviour
  • Anger Management
  • Health & Hygiene
  • Stress Management
  • Social Media & Influence

The book was launched on July 31, 2019 by Mumbai Smiles Foundation’s founder and General Director Jaume Sanllorente and Dr Dinu Mathew, who had conducted the earlier capacity building workshop for the team.

Following this inauguration, some of the beneficiaries shared their experience and learnings from the capacity building workshop.
