Community Health team receives special appreciation

On our website, we always put up updates on the recent activities of our various projects, to keep all of you, our dear readers, supporters, well wishers, donors and associates abreast of all the latest happenings and progress of our community citizens. Today we wish to share with you all a very special post about our citizens of Hanuman Tekdi and Indira Nagar, both areas near our office in the north-western area of Mumbai.

In these two areas, the Community Health camp had organised a free eye check-up camp last year and a few of the citizens who were screened at the camp were diagnosed with Cataract, whose surgical treatments were successfully carried out by us, with the support of Doctor Eye Institute, either completely free of cost, or at extremely nominal fees (depending on the financial situation of the patients). Post their surgeries, all the beneficiaries have been able to retain their eye sight and have had no complaints so far. And as an appreciatory gesture towards Mumbai Smiles Foundation and especially towards the Community Health team, comprising of Supriya and Ganesh (Program Officer and Field Coordinator respectively), they organised a small get together, where they presented a small token of appreciation in form a small sum of money and flowers.

This get together has boosted the morale of our team manifold and is proof of the fact that our work, with the support of all our partners, donors, supporters and well wishers are bearing the sweet fruits of growth and development! Although we could not take the monetary gift from them, which we returned, we have saved the flowers and above all, the love that they have showered over us.

We specially want to thank Mr. Keshav Magre and Mr. Bhagwam Magar who organised the event and personally felicitated our team members at the get together. We wish all of them all the very best for their future and for their health and we hope to reach out to many more citizens now, who need the support !
