The Community Health project regularly conducts free medical camps in our project areas including community centres, preschool education centres, partner schools and livelihood centre with the objective to create awareness about eye and dental disorders through community intervention and free medical support, as also early detection of the various eye and dental ailments, in order to initiate the treatment procedure for all our beneficiaries.

The latest free eye check up camp was held in collaboration with Aditya Jyot Foundation, in one of our partner schools called Navhind School in Powai area, where 450 children were screened for refractive eye errors, cataract and other eye ailments. Of these, a total of 105 children were identified with refractive eye error, one child was detected with cataract and six more children need further evaluation.

The process of free cataract surgery, spectacles distribution and further evaluation for those who need it, is underway currently.

We specially want to thank Aditya Jyot Foundation for their support in empowering the Community Health program with the team of doctors and medical support for the camp, as also to Navhind School (including their Principal and Staff) for their complete support in logistically supporting us in setting up the camp.
