1000 Hands women design their own uniform

 In Awareness, Mumbai Smiles, SEED

The 1000 Hands project (earlier known as SEED) is the one that tackles the area of livelihood which provides training to the women of the community for various projects related as per the requirement. In the month of August, in collaboration with the Responsive Action project, 1000 Hands beneficiaries had designed and created 3200 Friendship bands for our Spanish donors, members, collaborators, associates and supporters, which were highly appreciated by all the recipients. Currently, the Christmas Cards (as mentioned in our earlier blog) are being sent out as well to be sold in Spain to individuals as well as companies.

1000 Hands beneficiaries with Masterji

One of the very interesting projects recently taken up and completed by the women is creating their own uniforms!

With this new rush of excitement with the new uniforms, the women are visibly excited. With each new step, we at Mumbai Smiles are trying to help the slum communities get more organised and advanced in terms of their daily work and personal life by way of small, yet important and organised steps.
