Balwadi teachers trained on , “The Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN)” model.

About IYCN: The Infant and Young Child Nutrition (IYCN) model is based on Maternal and Child Health and will help in improving the nutritional status of mothers, infants, and young children. IYCN focuses on proven interventions that are effective from the start of pregnancy through the first two years of life.

Objectives of the IYCN Training: The training will provide the Balwadi Teachers the required training tools, and knowledge on maternal nutrition, breastfeeding, complementary feeding, infant feeding, Malnutrition, Child Health etc. This training program will help our balwadi teachers and assistants understand the basics and importance of maternal and child care which they can spread in the respective community.

The training and implementation will help us have an impact on Maternal and Infant Mortality as well as Morbidity in our project areas. The resource persons Mr. Sudame and Mr. Shyam were representatives of the Nutrition Mission who conducted a very effective 3 day training program for the Balwadi teachers.
