DREAM RUN and a step into a new decade!

The much awaited Dream Run of the 2nd Marol Mini Marathon comes to a successful closure and with it Mumbai Smiles raises the curtain to welcome its ambitious 10th Year!
The Dream Run was a 3km long run for all the ones who believe in running for a cause. Mumbai Smiles organized this run in collaboration with St. Rocks Educational Trust which caters to the educational needs of the students in the community. Mumbai Smiles Executive Director, Mr. Narendra Kumar Dundu said “Seeing so many people gather to support a cause was indeed inspirational. Completing 10 years of Mumbai Smiles in 2015, it was symbolic to have started off the celebrations with a run, to mark the ambitious run we look forward to have from here to uplift the community.” The 2nd Marol Mini Marathon was organized with the kind efforts of Seven Hills Hospital who took care of the medical needs, Big Boss Gym who were the fitness partners and Lions club who were the Health Partners.
The Dream Run was won by Mr. Elvis Netto and Amit Dambhare our Monitoring Officer bagged the 2nd runner’s position. The runners were a diverse group of participants having school teachers, young students, women and executives. The marathon organized 14 different races and more than 2000 students participated. The event gave a platform to spread various social messages, where a small girl was seen holding a banner saying “Bati Bacho, Beti Padhao” i.e. save the girl child and educate them for a better future.
In all the event was a great success for Mumbai Smiles since we reached out to so many people in the community and among our partners. We look forward to such support in future for our 10th Year celebration in the month of April.

I always wanted to participate in Marathon. It was on my wish list calendar and ‘Dream run’ fulfilled my dream to run for a cause. I loved and enjoyed every bit of it. I was amazed to see enthusiasm of children & our beneficiaries. I will treasure this memory all my life.
