World Leprosy Day Program

 In Infectious Diseases

Leprosy is curable but despite that there are still millions of people around the world living with this disability. The awareness day is held on the last Saturday & Sunday in January.  This Saturday was chosen as the closest date to the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Ghandi, who was greatly concerned by the plight of those suffering with leprosy.

Mumbai Smiles organized programmes to create awareness on the World Leprosy control day. The event was held on 31st January 2016 at Powai, Mumbai. The awareness activities and medical health camp were organized at Phule Nagar, Powai.
