Life Skills icebreaker session at Samta Vidyamandir

In Life Skills Empowerment, Mumbai Smiles

Education today is incomplete without life skills. These critical skills have been incorporated in most national and state board curriculum. This is because educationists have identified these skills are critical for young people to succeed in the world. At Mumbai Smiles, our Primary and Higher Education projects have also taken note of this development. This is why the Life Skills Empowerment (LSE) module has been incorporated at both the primary and the higher levels.

On 27 September 2018, the first icebreaker meeting of the LSE programme for the new academic session was held at Samta Vidyamandir school. The meeting was attended by 16 young girls and boys, as well as some staff members and LSE instructors. The purpose of the meeting was to help the students to overcome shyness and start building a rapport with each other as well as with the instructors. Such icebreakers are very helpful in creating a healthy group dynamic and ensuring that the LSE programme delivers its maximum impact throughout the rest of the year.
