Future Smiles Team organizes a Stress Management workshop

Stress Management is one of the important aspects of our life. Although, stress does play a positive role to help us attain our goals to some extent but if this stress crosses a certain threshold, it starts yielding negative results. Prolonged exposure to such situations can have an impact on physical, emotional and mental health. With the increase in the number of students/professionals committing suicide due to high levels of stress, Stress management has become all the more inevitable.

In this perspective, The Future Smiles Team of Mumbai Smiles recently organized a workshop on Stress Management on 20th January 2014 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the SEED training center. The target audience of the event was students from Marol pipeline area. 34 students took  part in the workshop. The main objective behind conducting this workshop was to enable the beneficiaries learn stress management and overcome exam fear. The topics covered in the workshop related to concept, causes, types and tips to manage stress. The workshop was conducted by Sarvoparita – Education Head, Future Smiles Project.

Initially, the Future Smiles team coordinated and followed up with beneficiaries from Marol, Vikhroli & Thane area. Subsequently, the beneficiaries were registered for the workshop. The team then prepared a program schedule for the event, before it was finally conducted.

It was a very informative and useful workshop for the students. Through the stress management techniques learned in this workshop, the students can not only avoid the negative effects of stress, but also bring positive changes in their life such as increased productivity, better health and more happiness in general.
