Volunteer Spotlight !!!
Globally in the development sector the concept of active volunteerism is becoming very prominent these days. It is now strongly felt that volunteers bring expert knowledge through their involvement in projects which lead to qualitative outcomes. It also provides space for innovation and at the same time cuts down the cost of the whole intervention. Volunteerism has been witnessed in all age categories but these days youths are actively participating to do their bit for the social causes.
Nationally also the concept of volunteerism is being promoted through Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India. It aims to provide catalytic support to the Youth Volunteer Schemes in the country and facilitate greater youth participation and voice in peace and sustainable development programmes.
Mumbai Smiles also believes in promoting volunteerism and have a separate Unit called Awareness and New Glances under which voluntary interventions are taken care of. To know more about it you can visit our blog www.mumbaismiles.org on which several stories have been covered.
Today we introduce you to one of our dedicated & conscientious volunteer Mr. Chiranshu. A Chartered Accountant by profession, he works fulltime for a corporate firm. Based on his keen interest and passion for writing we gave him an assignment to update our blog on daily basis. Since November 2013 he has written more than 200 blogs. The quality, content and humane touch which reflects in our blogs is an outcome of his intense thought and clear understanding of each project. This shows his deep involvement with us and with our projects.
On July 3rd 2015, Mumbai Smiles facilitated his invaluable and excellent contribution to the organization. It was done in presence of General Director, Executive Director India and the whole team. For a significant advancement in career; he is going abroad for doing MBA. During the event whole team of Mumbai Smiles showed their gratitude towards his contribution and congratulated him for a brighter future ahead. Here is the excerpt of few lines which he has to say about us – “I strongly feel for this organization and from the initial days of my involvement I felt like being a part of the family. Moreover the dedicated and committed staff here makes you feel so comfortable that the outcomes expected from us are bound to be accomplished. This NGO is really very professional in its approach which makes volunteers like us enjoy our work and association with it. After completing my MBA; with the added skills I look forward to continuing my close voluntary association with Mumbai Smiles in line with the upgraded degree.”
These words mean a lot to us and we are really grateful to volunteers like Chiranshu who despite their busy schedule are so actively contributing towards the society in a selfless way.
