Restoring healthy vision via EYE Camps!!!
Eye care and treatment is one of the critical projects run by Mumbai Smiles in the communities of Andheri East. The Diabetic Retinopathy and Eye check up camp was conducted on 6th July at Mohili Village, Khairane Road, in collaboration with Aditya Jyot foundation, Mumbai Smiles and Yash Foundation.
This was a follow up camp to the Diabetic Retinopathy camp organized on 29th May 2015. As an outcome of this camp 69 people were detected with refractive error problem.
In this camp all 69 people identified with the problem were distributed spectacles free of cost. It included 16 males and 53 females. This was followed by a small awareness meeting for cataract patients along with their family members about the process to be followed for the post surgical check up at Aditya Jyot Hospital. Khairani road community members were really happy since the camp was organized in their community and free spectacles were distributed to them. These camps also aim at creating awareness about eye disorders and its early detection in community to alleviate the cases of blindness and restore healthy vision.
