The Future Smiles project of Mumbai Smiles was designed with the motto of ‘Educating Disadvantaged Youth in Mumbai” and has envisioned mentoring and providing scholarships to underprivileged yet deserving youth in the age group of 13 – 22 years. The program aims to provide individual mentoring, group learning, exposure to various successful institutions and personalities and thereby enable a holistic development, along with the social empowerment of student beneficiaries. This project also promotes Girl Child Education which ensures free education for underprivileged adolescent girls in the age group of 13 – 15 years.

With this objective, on 22nd December 2014, a personality development session was organized by our Future Smiles team for students in the age group of 17 years and above. The main objective of this session was to allow the beneficiaries to develop interpersonal skills.

The session involved exercises by Ms. Anjali who organized the event. She advised students on various aspects that comprise an individual’s personality. In one of the exercises, she distributed handouts among students so as to enable them to analyze their skills, goals and internal fears. She also shared a presentation on motivation with students. Through her exercises, she helped beneficiaries identify their goals, develop perseverance, and patience.

The beneficiaries participated in this session enthusiastically and look forward to working on their personality.
