Future Smiles beneficiaries shine
Future Smiles project was designed with the motto of ‘Educating Disadvantaged Youth in Mumbai and has envisioned mentoring and providing scholarships to needy and ambitious youth in the age group of 13 – 22 years from underprivileged background. It provides individual mentoring, group learning, exposure to various successful institutions and personalities and thereby a holistic development along with the social empowerment of student beneficiaries. This project also promotes Girl Child Education which ensures free education for adolescent girls in the age group of 6 – 13 years from the underprivileged families. Through counseling and capacity building, it also ensures that most of the students are enrolled in professional courses in order to empower them to rise above the poverty line and lead a life with dignity.
Recently, results of 12th standard board exams were declared and 19 of our Future Smiles beneficiaries had taken the standard 12th exams for the academic year 2014-2015. Out of the total, 11 students have scored marks between 50% – 70%, with 6 students scoring more than 65% marks. Only one student has scored less than 50%. The highest marks scored in this examination was 81%, scored by Ms. Sneha Sopan (SYJC Commerce)
The above chart shows that 5% students have scored less than 50% and above 70% marks, while 58% students have scored marks in the between 50% to 70%. The Board has reserved the results of 32 percent students and their results will be declared on 4th June, 2015.
Congratulations to Ms. Sneha Sopan and all other students for clearing the exams.
