Essential medical supplements distributed among preschool students

Poverty is often synonymous with deficiency—a person who lives in poverty will often not have access to things that everyone else may take for granted. One very important area where such deficiencies often occur is diet and nutrition. A person living in poverty may miss vital nutrients in his/her diet, which can have a deep impact on their health. There are also many health conditions and illnesses that are more likely to occur among people who live in poverty. It is, therefore, vital that marginalised communities are provided additional supplements and medical treatments to ensure that they are at par with the health standards of the larger community.

On 24 October 2018, the Preschool Education project conducted a distribution of Vitamin A supplements and deworming tablets for the students at our preschool in Ghatkopar. Vitamin A deficiency can lead to poor vision and other health issues. Periodic deworming is also essential for gut health and normal growth in children. Therefore, this drive was conducted in order to correct these deficiencies and help the children at the preschool to live healthier and happier lives.
