Balwadis organize parents’ meeting throughout January

Post the area wise meetings conducted in the 1st week of January 2014, parent’s meetings are now being organized since 2nd week onwards. Each Balwadi organizes a parent’s meet every month to provide a feedback of Balwadi students’ to their parents. Further, at each Balwadi, student who is found to be most healthy is rewarded with a Healthy baby of the month award. Also, parents and teachers discuss nutrition and food habits of children in these meetings.

Meetings have already been held in Balwadi no. 15,16,17,18 in the Powai area this week. In the other balwadis viz. remaining 2 of Powai , 8 of Marol pipeline, 6 of Sangharsh Nagar, 2 of Kanjurmarg, and 1 of Vikhroli, they are expected to be held in the upcoming week and all the meetings are expected to be completed by 25th January 2014

The agenda of the meetings involve the following:

• Review of last month’s activities of balwadi by teachers
• Regular attendance of children in the Balwadis
• Admission awareness in the respective area for upcoming year
• Requirement of birth certificates for Balwadi admission
• Feedback on Bal- Mohastav (Children’s day) from parents.
• Sharing of parents’ experience with regard to their child’s development
• SHG’s related issues about supplementary nutrition.
• Cleanliness of Children.
• Reading of last Weight/Malnutrition Grade of children to parents.
• Parent’s responsibility.
