Diabetic Retinopathy and Eye checkup camp organized at Vikroli
On 21st February 2015, an eye checkup camp was organized at Vikhroli area for the community people. The objective of the camp was to create awareness about eye disorders and to detect refractive errors and eye aliments among community people.
The camp was organized in collaboration with Aditya Jyot Foundation. 104 people were screened during the camp. 79 have been detected with refractive errors, 4 with cataract, 2 with cyclo and 3 have been referred for further investigation.
The logistics and the facilities were provided by Saraswati Vidya Niketan School. A special thanks to Ms. Bandgar, principal of the school for giving permission to utilize the facilities and infrastructure of the school for the camp.
From Mumbai Smiles team, Bapu Bhadke (Balwadi FCO), teachers and members from SHG group came forward and helped in making the program a success.
Seeing the success, members of the community have requested for similar such camps in future.
