First Beneficiary Committee Meeting for the Preschool Education Project this academic year
The first Beneficiary Committee Meeting for the Preschool Education Project was organized on 31st August. Multiple parents of Preschool project attended the meeting and provided feedback on the quality of service provided with suggestions for further improvement.
Ms. Inés Ramos, Deputy Director of Mumbai Smiles, Program Officers of Preschool Education Project and Field Coordinator of Marol pipeline area were present during the meeting. Focus group discussions were conducted with beneficiaries to evaluate accomplished activities, progress, and overall achievements regarding the Preschool Education Project. Interactive sessions ensued to document suggested project changes and modifications from parents.
Deputy Director of Mumbai Smiles requested beneficiaries to share their experiences and recommendations that will help Mumbai Smiles as an organization advance and upgrade their work to meet community needs. A parent expressed her gratitude to Mumbai Smiles for introducing healthy habits in her family and informing her about issuing birth certificate from BMC for her child to seek admission in schools.
The beneficiary committee meetings for Mumbai Smiles have been the most effective grassroot tool in evaluating the success of the project and make improvements by direct involvement of the parents of pre school children. They are the best judge of the effect of the project and getting suggestions from them is of prime importance.
Community participation has always been integral to Mumbai Smiles projects, particularly towards ensuring holistic development of children.
