Project Quality enhanced through an effective monitoring and evaluation strategy

The backbone to every project’s path to success is a strong internal monitoring and reporting system. Mumbai Smiles Foundation’s one of a kind monitoring system involves community participation at the core where beneficiaries play an active role in ensuring project outcomes are met.

A formal meeting was organized with 18 beneficiaries and Mumbai Smiles Foundation’s staff to strengthen and reinforce the need for a robust field level monitoring and evaluation system. Discussions were focused on data collection efficiency, participation of stakeholders and decision makers, and key processes to be actioned for field evaluation.

Technical inputs and recommendations were provided to improve the current system and field level data collection. It was suggested to focus on three elements during review of field data – mapping of area and ward locations; scope, roles and responsibilities of team members; and existing networks with NGO partners.
