We are happy to share with you that our first batch under the SEED, skill development project for the year 2013 kick started on 25^th of February. A group of 35 women between the age group of 18-45 years got enrolled for the course. All of them are from the slums of Marol Pipeline area and belong to the marginalized section of the society. The main concept behind the project was to impart skills in Handicraft to women to earn livelihood while working from home. They are being imparted training in Handicraft making skills. The best part about this training program is that these women will earn while they learn the new skills. Currently they have started with rose making and later on other handicraft items like jute bags, paper bags, soft toys etc will also be taught to them.

We are delighted to announce that the group has got first order of roses from a Spanish couple who are getting married in April. Their kind gesture and sensitivity towards the cause is very encouraging for us and the women in particular. The best wishes of these women will reach to the couple in the form of roses during the wedding. What a good beginning than this to start off with? From the pictures in this blog you can see how roses are being made by the group with joy.
