CHILD EXPLOITATION
Prevention on gender violence
This project aims to raise awareness about gender-based violence in the communities where we work and to intervene in cases of male violence against women. The high prevalence of this type of violence among the population makes it necessary to implement a specific strategy to address this problem, which constitutes a violation of rights and a factor that contributes to inequality and social exclusion.
Within the project, we conduct community information and awareness sessions on male violence against women, in which both women and men participate. Recently, we have also begun to implement sessions specifically for men.
Intervention in cases of male violence against women involves providing victims with legal and psychological support, as well as accompaniment throughout the reporting process, protection, and family mediation.
Over the past year, this project has worked in rural villages in Thane district in the state of Maharashtra, raising awareness of the risks posed by trafficking networks in order to prevent, in particular girls and women, from falling prey to them.
