OUR FOUNDER, Jaume Sanllorente

“It is astonishing that even in the 21st Century there continues to be a scourge on this planet called poverty, but it is more unbelievable that we do nothing to eradicate it. Each and every one of us should go around the world making it a better place. There is only one possible response to inequality, injustice and poverty: take the appropriate action to eradicate them.

Sonrisas de Bombay was born to contribute to a better world with the solid purpose of peacefully fighting against poverty in the city of Mumbai and its surroundings, advancing so that all the citizens of this city and its peripheries can enjoy their most basic human rights.

Today, after working for the most disadvantaged communities for more than 15 years, Mumbai Smiles continues its mission and focuses its efforts on the fight against human trafficking. To do this, we extend our actions to other regions of Asia that allow us to go forward with the eradication of this shameful form of slavery.”
