Voices of the women from the slums of Marol get a hearing in Spain – through Priyanka Tiwari

In the month of May, Priyanka Tiwari, Program Officer of our SEED project, visited Spain visited Spain to portray the lives of women in the Mumbai slums and the Mumbai Smiles response to these women.

SEED, a skills development program, seeks to empower women from slum communities with skills that will make them employable and enable them to join the workforce in order to earn a livelihood.

A series of conferences was organized during her visit. During these conferences, she enlightened the members about the situation of the women in the slums of the metropolitan city, Mumbai. Further, these conferences emphasized the role of women in bringing about a social transformation in the disadvantaged sections of the society and the work carried out by Mumbai Smiles to fight against inequality. Moreover, on 26th may, all our solitary products were displayed at the second open house at our office in Barcelona
