Review of Parents Meetings conducted in the month of January – Part II

Post the area wise meetings conducted in the 1st week of January 2014, parent’s meetings were held since 2nd week onwards. Each Balwadi organizes a parent’s meet every month to provide a feedback of Balwadi students’ to their parents. Further, at each Balwadi, student who is found to be most healthy is rewarded with a Healthy baby of the month award. Also, parents and teachers discuss nutrition and food habits of children in these meetings.

All parent’s meetings have finally been conducted. Almost, all the parents attended and actively participated in these meetings. Parents took feedback of children from the teachers and were curious to know the timing of various events such as sports competition, drawing competition etc in the balwadis. They also took information on health and cleanliness aspects.

The Balwadi teachers gave feedback to the parents on the weight of students. All the students were weighed and graded in certain categories. Teachers guided the parents of children in grade II and III categories to make these children eat healthy food, avoid outside food and have meals at regular intervals.

Some of the important agendas of these meetings were:

• Review of last month’s activities of balwadi by teachers

• Regular attendance of children in the Balwadis

• SHG’s related issues about supplementary nutrition

• Cleanliness of Children
• Reading of last Weight/Malnutrition Grade of children to parents
