Portescap employees spend a Day with the Balwadi children
26th of October was indeed a special Saturdiay in the lives of a few employees who worked with Portescap. Portescap is an organization that works out of SEEPZ in Andheri East. They have a ‘Fun Committee’ that had organized a ‘fun day’ for a few of their employees; the fun day being spending a day with the Balwadi children.
It was a Saturday, generally a non – working day for the Balwadis. However, on the special request of the organization, Mumbai Smiles arranged for the children of 3 Balwadis to gather at the Balwadi No 15 to have a morning full of fun.
There were over 60 children and the kind of fun and noise that they made was infectious. There was games, food and a lot of fun for over two hours.
We were overwhelmed to see the employees participate with complete enthusiasm and pull a day out from their busy schedule to spend time with the children. It was indeed encouraging to see Kritika (a portescap employee) come along with her entire family. Her aunt and grandma accompanied her and sang nursery rhymes with the Balwadi children.
In the picture you see Mandakini showing some photos taken on her phone to the Balwadi children. The kids surrounded her from all sides and almost attacked her to see her phone. We are sure Mandakini and the entire group had a lot of fun!
