Performance report cards distributed at the Balwadis

Recently, annual evaluation of balwadi children was completed for academic year 2013-14.This is an annual exercise. The evaluation is carried out by the balwadi teachers at the end of each academic year. Every child is assessed on the basis of a questionnaire that covers various parameters such as general knowledge, fine motor and physical skills, Pre reading skills , Pre writing skills, story listening and poem recitation, Healthy habits etc. 716 children at 23 balwadis were appraised and their appraisal was further checked by the Monitoring team. The students were awarded various grades for each parameter. The grades included A+ = excellent, A = good, B+ = average and B = need to improve.

After the evaluation, a performance report card was prepared for each student. The reports were distributed among all the children on 11th April 2014. At Balwadi no. 1 and 2 ,our EDI, Mr Narendra Kumar Dundu and our health unit head, Dr Nirmal Ahuja distributed the reports among students. At all the other balwadis, team members distributed the reports.

Further, at each of the Balwadis, a group photograph of the entire class was also taken. The photograph was also distributed, along with the performance report card so that students are able to remember their Balwadi friends when they look back at their childhood days and recall their memories.

Also, do look out for the Global Action week for education that starts from 4th may and continues upto 10th may 2014.The campaign will focus on the theme “Equal Right, Equal Opportunity”.
