Monica Santos brings a smile to Mumbai Smiles
Monica Santos is a professional clown artist who works for a Clown association called Petons, which means ‘kisses’ in the Catalan, in Barcelona.
Petons is an association that is involved in performing clown acts for the elderly patients suffering from various sicknesses like cancer etc. The objective of this association is primarily, to fill the lives of such people with happiness, joy and love and to encourage them in keeping their spirits up through all the ups and downs in their lives. Many a times while performing the acts, the patients not only laugh their heads off, but very often, these artists take this as an opportunity to make the patients do their daily exercises and other required activities as suggested by the doctor. Thus, eventually the patients are thoroughly exhilarated with the acts and at the same time have even managed to do their daily exercises.
On the 3rd of October, Monica Santos, one such professional clown artist, decided to contribute to Mumbai Smiles, by performing a clown act not only for our Balwadi children and Hope beneficiaries but also for our office staff.
