Completion of Annual evaluation of Balwadi children

 Just like every year, this academic year also ended with the annual evaluation of balwadi children. This evaluation is carried out by the balwadi Teachers at the end of each academic year. Every child is assessed on the basis of a questionnaire that is prepared by the Balwadi team, with the help of Monitoring and evaluation officer and the unit head. All 716 children at 23 balwadis were appraised and their appraisal was further checked by the Monitoring team. A Performance report card will be further provided to each student on 11th April 2014.

The Evaluation was done on various parameters such as:

• General knowledge – Whether the student is able to tell his/her name, address, teacher name etc.

• Fine motor and physical skills – Can he/she walk in a straight line, frog jump and rabbit jump, make paper balls etc.

• Pre reading skills – can he/she identify persons, shapes, colors, animals, birds, body parts

• Pre writing skills – can the student join the points in a picture, color a picture, write alphabets and numbers

• Pre maths prep –can a student pair same sizes, arrange aphabets/objects in a sequence, count no. of objects (straws/pencils) etc.

• Story listening and poem recitation – can he/she tell a story/an occasion in the story, answer indirect questions from the story etc.

• Healthy habits –Whether he/she brushes, baths, wears clean clothes, carries water bottle regularly to the Balwadi.

Moreover, we’re just weeks away from celebrating the Global Action week for education that starts from 4th may and continues upto 10th may 2014.The campaign will focus on the theme “Equal Right, Equal Opportunity”.
